ICC World Cup 2019: Twitter Reacts As South Africa Post A Competitive Score

South Africa was able to post a par score of 325 runs after their skipper Faf du Plessis won the toss and decided to bat first against Australia in the 45th match of the World Cup. The Proteas got off to a fine start as their openers Quinton de Kock and Aiden Markram provided an alliance of 79 runs to lay down the foundation of a big score.

Meanwhile, Aiden Markram was bamboozled by Nathan Lyon when the off-spinner drew the right-hander into a forward drive. Alex Carey was sharp behind the stumps and he was quick to get rid off the bails to sent back Markram for 34 runs.
South Africa finally comes up with their best.
Quinton de Kock completed his fifty but once again could not convert it into a hundred after he was dismissed by Nathan Lyon.
Faf du Plessis had been getting off to starts but he failing to convert it into a big score. However, the South African skipper was at his best as he completed his hundred off just 93 balls and batted at the top of his game. In fact, this was the first hundred from South Africa in this World Cup.
However, the right-hander was dismissed soon after completing his personal milestone. The Proteas captain scored his runs at more than run-a-ball and his knock was laden with seven fours and two sixes.
Faf du Plessis and Rassie Van der Dussen added the best partnership of 151 runs, which was their best of the tournament. Rassie Van der Dussen who has looked the best South African batsman in the tournament, scored an another fifty. JP Duminy, who was playing his last innings for South Africa in ODI, scored runs.

On the other hand, Nathan Lyon and Mitchell Starc scalped two wickets each whereas Jason Behrendorff snared one wicket.
