With ICC World Cup 2019 around the corner, the primary headache for the team management is to pick their 15-member squad. Almost all the places have been filled with regular players apart from two places, which are on hold. As per the recent statements from the selectional panel and Virat Kohli, it is evident that KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik are in the scheme of things.

Confirming the same, Virat Kohli quoted that they would like to give as much as game time to KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant to show their worth for the team. It means that the skipper is pretty much determined to give the duo a Go-Ahead but the performances of the concerned players are evading him to confirm.

Regarding the same, he named Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul, who are in the playing XI. KL Rahul scored a decent fifty while Rishabh Pant was dismissed in an unfortunate fashion. On the other hand, Dinesh Karthik was cleaned up for a cheap score.

”Anything is possible now. We want to give game time to Rahul and Pant. We Want to figure out what we need to do in the World Cup. I think he (Rahul) played a really good knock. We had a good partnership. 150 would have been a winning score the way the pitch played,” Virat Kohli said.

Well, it would be interesting to see how things would pan out for KL Rahul in his international career. His performance against Australia will most probably decide his fate for the ICC World Cup 2019.

On the other hand, Mahendra Singh Dhoni is the obvious choice in the ODI format. So, there is only one slot left for the backup wicketkeeper option. For the very same slot, the players available in the kitty are Dinesh Karthik and Rishabh Pant, who is pushing for a place in the side.
