With Team India yet to give a call-up to Suryakumar Yadav, former New Zealand allrounder Scott Styris has asked the batsman whether he fancies playing international cricket for a different team.
The New Zealand legend’s comments came right after Suryakumar Yadav’s stunning match-winning knock for Mumbai Indians against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Wednesday. The in-form batsman slammed an unbeaten 79 off just 43 balls to help Mumbai Indians chase down 165 with five balls to spare.

He came at the crease when Mumbai were 37 for 1 in the sixth over and remained till the end. While wickets were falling at regular intervals from one end, the Mumbai star remained firm from his end to showcase his finishing abilities. He fittingly finished the game by hitting Mohammed Siraj for a four on the first ball of the last over when Mumbai Indians needed three off six.

Scott Styris’ offer for Suryakumar Yadav:
Soon after the game ended, Scott Styris took to Twitter and jokingly asked the batsman whether he fancies playing for New Zealand. Suryakumar Yadav suffered yet another heartbreaking snub earlier this week when he was not named in India squads for the tour of Australia.
The right-handed batsman has been doing really well in domestic circuit and in IPL from the last 2-3 years but is yet to earn the maiden call-up from the Indian team. Styris, nonetheless, took a chance to lure the batsman towards New Zealand, writing:
“I wonder if Suryakumar Yadav fancies playing International cricket he might move overseas.”
