The series win was followed by an impressing 3-0 win over South Africa at home before the team proved its worth in the mammoth 2016-17 season where they defeated West Indies (2-0), New Zealand (3-0), England (4-0), Bangladesh (1-0) and Australia (2-1). The winning streak continued in Sri Lanka too as they thrashed the Islanders 3-0.
