Rohit Sharma remained unbeaten at 208 and became the first batsman to score three double centuries and first captain to score a double ton in ODI’s. India won the match by 141 runs.
Shikhar Dhawan scored 68 at the top of the order and shared an opening run stand of 115 with Rohit. Shreyas Iyer, in his second ODI, played beautifully for his 88 runs. Sri Lanka needed 393 runs to win.
He looked on course for his first hundred in ODI cricket but lost his wicket while accelerating the run rate. He scored his final 38 runs in a mere 13 deliveries.
