After a well-fought series win in the fifty-overs format against Sri Lanka, the Indian cricket team was gearing up the T20 series under Rohit Sharma, who is acting as the stand-in captain in place of Virat Kohli, who has opted out due to personal engagements.

The former skipper MS Dhoni was spotted giving his full 100 percent during the training sessions.

This Indian team is filled with young cricketers with the team management giving the senior players an all-important rest ahead of the crucial South African tour.

In a video posted by Star Sports from their official Twitter account, Dhoni was spotted ahead of the first T20 at the Barabati Stadium talking to the junior cricketers giving them suggestions where to bowl. Dhoni was seen showing bowling grip to young Basil Thampi and was indicating where to bowl after discussing with him about the fielding positions.

He was also spotted honing his batting skills in the nets following it with a discussion with the batting coach Sanjay Bangar.

India knocked the visitors by 93 runs after posting 180 runs on the board in the first T20I. Dhoni once again proved his class, playing a vital knock alongside Manish Pandey taking India’s total to 180 after Lokesh Rahul provided India with a good start. The bowlers were disciplined throughout; however, Yuzvendra Chahal grabbed the man of the match award for bagging four important wickets.

India will take on Sri Lanka in the second T20 later on Wednesday scheduled to be played at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore.
