Sri Lanka was thrashed in the second ODI against India in Mohali as the hosts won the match by 141 runs. The match will be remembered for hitting the third ODI double century of his career and became the first batsman to score three double centuries and first captain to score a double ton in ODI’s. Rohit scored 208 runs and remained unbeaten till the end.

Shreyas Iyer who was playing in his second ODI played beautifully for his 88 runs. He looked on course for his first hundred in ODI cricket but lost his wicket while accelerating the run rate. He scored his final 38 runs in a mere 13 deliveries. He was also involved in a 213 runs partnership for the second wickets.

For Sri Lanka, the only bright spot in the match for the tourists as he scored a century and remained unbeaten on 111. While bowling, Captain Thisara Perera took three wickets. Gunaratne was the second highest run scorer for the touring team scoring 34 runs.

Lahiru Thirimanne became debutant Washington Sundar’s first international wicket as he fell after getting a start of 21.

Angelo Matthews- 8/10

All-rounder Angelo Matthews had a good game with both bat and ball as he gave away just nine runs in four overs. He scored an unbeaten century and scored 111 off 132 deliveries and was at the crease until the end.

Niroshan Dickwella- 3/10

Niroshan Dickwella got a start of 22 runs but threw his wicket away while cutting a ball and was caught by Washington Sundar.

Asela Gunaratne- 4/10

Asela Gunaratne tried to anchor the ship while chasing a huge target but was stumped off the bowling of Chahal.

Thisara Perera (Captain) – 4/10

Thisara Perera picked up three wickets and scored just five runs while chasing a daunting target of 393.

Sachith Pathirana- 2/10

Sachith Pathirana picked up just one wicket in nine overs and gave away 63 runs.

Suranga Lakmal- 1/10

Man of the match in the first ODI Suranga Lakmal had a match to forget as he went wicketless in the match and gave away 71 runs in eight overs.

Akila Dhananjaya-1/10

Akila Dhananjaya had a miserable match as he went wicketless giving away 51 runs and scored just 11 runs.

Nuwan Pradeep- 7/10

Nuwan Pradeep was the most expensive Sri Lankan bowler as he gave away 106 runs in his quota of 10 overs and went wicketless.
