Shikhar Dhawan wrote his name in the history books after a blistering century in the first session of the historic Test match against Afghanistan in Bengaluru.

The southpaw batsman became the sixth player in the cricketing folklore to score a century before the lunch session on Day one of a Test match.

In fact, Dhawan became the first Indian batsman to achieve this feat. Furthermore, the Indian opener joined the elite list which also has Sir Don Bradman.

Meanwhile, Dhawan was on fire in the ongoing historic Test match against Afghanistan. The left-hander scored his runs at a brisk pace. The Delhi batsman reached his seventh Test hundred off just 87 balls to keep India noses in front. The hosts ended the first session on 158 without the loss of any wicket.

Consequently, Dhawan also took the attack against Afghanistan best spinner Rashid Khan. Dhawan showed no mercy to his Sunrisers Hyderabad teammate, as he attacked him from the get-go.

Dhawan scored 19 boundaries and three maximums in his blistering knock. On the other hand, Dhawan’s partner Murali Vijay was cautious in his approach. The flamboyant batsman scored 41 runs off 82 balls.
