Though Indians had a successful ICC World Cup 2011, they were beaten by South Africa in the league game, which was a thriller. The hero of that night was Robin Peterson, who smashed Ashish Nehra to the boundary to secure a victory under immense pressure. Meanwhile, in an interview with SportStar, he recollects those glorious days of his career.

That should rank as my favourite – Robin Peterson

He quoted that it will always remain on top of his best moments in International cricket. He also believes that a lot of members in that unit would remember the game, as it was special to beat India in India, who were the eventual champions of the tournament as well.

“Beating India in India at Nagpur was the closest we came to perfection in terms of chasing a big total under pressure. That should rank as my favourite cricketing moment. Though I don’t have many to point to. Beating India was a cherry on top but we ended up going out of the tournament. If you ask any member of that team they would definitely say that beating India would rank as their biggest gain of that World Cup,” said Robin.

India and England will be favourites:

Further, he went on to add saying that England and India will be favourites to win the trophy. He believes that both the sides have got the players, who can tackle the pressure and deliver the goods for the team in the grand event.

“India and England are playing the best white ball cricket at the moment. They are the favourites,” Robin Peterson said to SportStar.

Kuldeep Yadav, Chahal makes the difference:

Comparing India to England, Robin believes that the presence of Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal would make the difference. He feels that England did not have the variety in the team compared to the Indian National Cricket Team.

‘The support India has and its spinners Chahal and Yadav will make the difference. But I don’t think England has the variety in its attack like India. You got to find ways of scoring runs through sweeps or whatever means you are comfortable with,” Robin Peterson inferred.

Well, just like a lot of former cricketers and analysts, Robin Peterson also called England and India to be the favourites for the ICC World Cup 2019. Interestingly, the South African feels that the hosts haven’t got variety in their attack despite having a lot of all-rounders.

I just love what I script. Over the years, Cricket has been my passion and crisping articles on it gives me an immense pleasure...Cheers...!!!
