India, on Monday, announced their ODI squad for the three-match series against Australia next month. Jasprit Bumrah has returned to the team after missing the entire home season so far due to a back injury. The right-handed pacer has also been named in the T20I squad for the series against Sri Lanka which will take place just days before the Australia ODIs.

Along with Bumrah, senior opener Shikhar Dhawan has returned to the team too. He missed the T20I and ODI series against West Indies due to a knee injury. It, however, will be interesting to see whether Dhawan opens with Rohit Sharma or the team-management backs in-form KL Rahul at the top of the batting order.

With Dhawan back, Mayank Agarwal has been dropped from the squad. The uncapped player had replaced Dhawan in the team for the West Indies ODIs.

India, meanwhile, will be looking to avenge their loss in the ODI series to Australia earlier this year at home. Australia had beaten their fancied hosts 3-2 despite losing the first two games of the series. The upcoming series promises to be a cracking contest as both the teams are in stunning form at the moment.

Australia recently made light work of Pakistan and Sri Lanka in T20Is before thrashing New Zealand in the first Test. India, on the other hand, have defeated South Africa, Bangladesh and West Indies in different formats in the ongoing home season.

The three-match ODI series will start in Mumbai (January 14) before Rajkot (January 17) and Bengaluru (January 19) host the other two games.
