The hosts India won the Rajkot T20I against Bangladesh on Thursday (7th November) night and have levelled this three-match T20I series (1-1) with one match to go.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma decided to field first after winning the toss. The hosts restricted Bangladesh to 153/6 in 20 overs. In reply, Rohit Sharma’s outstanding batting helped the home team to chase down that target in 15.4 overs after losing just two wickets. The hosts won this match by eight wickets (with 26 balls remaining).

i) It was the 100th T20I for Rohit Sharma. After Shoaib Malik (Pakistan/ICC World XI), Rohit became the second male cricketer to play 100 T20Is. Malik has played 111 T20Is. Meanwhile, after Harmanpreet Kaur (100 T20Is), Rohit became the second Indian cricketer to play 100 T20Is.

ii) Rohit Sharma played his 320th T20 match and he became the most-capped T20 player among the Indian cricketers. In this list, Suresh Raina is behind of him as Raina has played 319 T20 matches.

iii) At the end of this match, Yuzvendra Chahal has picked up 26 T20I wickets at home. It is the most T20I wickets for an Indian bowler at home. The right-arm pacer Jasprit Bumrah is in the next position with 24 T20I wickets at home.

iv) Indian captain Rohit Sharma scored 85 runs. It is the highest individual score by an Indian captain in the second innings of a T20I match. The previous record was 82 runs by Virat Kohli against Sri Lanka at Colombo (RPS) on 6th September 2017. Also, Rohit’s 85 runs knock is the second-highest individual score by an Indian captain against Bangladesh. The record is 89 runs by Rohit Sharma at Colombo (RPS) on 14th March 2018.

v) As a T20I captain, Rohit Sharma has hit 37 sixes. It is the most number of sixes by an Indian T20I captain. The previous record was 34 T20I sixes by the former captain MS Dhoni.

(Partnership)

i) Opening batsmen Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan put the 118 runs partnership. It is India’s highest runs partnership for any wicket against Bangladesh in T20I history. Their previous record was 102 runs second-wicket partnership between Rohit Sharma and Suresh Raina at Colombo (RPS) on 14th March 2018.

ii) Also, the 118 runs opening partnership is India’s highest opening partnership in the second innings of a T20I match. The only other century partnership in this situation was 103 runs unbroken partnership between Mandeep Singh and KL Rahul against Zimbabwe at Harare on 20th June 2016.

iii) It is also India’s second-highest partnership for any wicket in the second innings of a home T20I match. The record is 130 runs partnership for the third wicket between Shikhar Dhawan and Rishabh Pant against Windies at Chennai on 11th November 2018.

iv) It was the fourth-century partnership in T20I between Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan. They are the first partner to provide more than three hundred partnerships in T20I history.
