India, Sri Lanka to play Nidahas Trophy opener on March 6

India and hosts Sri Lanka will lock horns in the opener of the Nidahas Trophy on March 6. The Twenty20 International Tri-nation series will involve Bangladesh. Quite undoubtedly, India will start off as the favourites of the competition.
The tournament is being played to mark seven years of Sri Lanka’s independence. All the group stage matches and the final will be played in Colombo. The matches are supposed to kick off at 7:00 PM local time.
According to Cricbuzz, India and Bangladesh will land in Sri Lanka on the fourth of March.

Team India is currently ranked third in the ICC rankings in T20I’s. However, they occupy the number one position in Tests and ODIs.
The performance in the upcoming Nidahas Trophy might well ensure India’s route to the No. 1 side across formats.
Sri Lanka and Bangladesh played each other in a Test and T20I series recently. The Lions ended up winning both the series.
