India To Tour Ireland For Two T20 Internationals
Ahead of the series against England, India will travel to Ireland to lock horns against the hosts in a couple of T20 Internationals in June. Both the games will be held in Dublin on June 27 and June 29. The Board of Control for Cricket in India, on Wednesday (January 10), confirmed the series and announced the schedule.
The short T20I series in Ireland will be followed by India’s long tour to England that begins in July.
India had previously visited Ireland way back in 2007 to play a solitary ODI and had gone on to thrash the hosts by nine wickets. India had played Ireland just once in the T20 format when the two sides met in Nottingham during the 2009 ICC World T20 and had gone on to win the game by eight wickets with 15 balls remaining.
Both these teams have met each other just thrice in ODIs (once each in 2011 World Cup and 2015 World Cup), and India have got the better of Ireland on all three occasions.
