Team India produced yet another magnificent performance in the 3rd and the deciding ODI against Sri Lanka to clinch yet another series by a 2-1 margin. Riding on brilliant bowling performances by the spinners and an exceptional century by Shikhar Dhawan, India strolled to a comprehensive 8 wickets victory with 17.5 overs remaining.

With this victory, India keeps their winning run intact and proved it yet again that they have the firepower to make a comeback after going 0-1 down in the series. It was an exceptional performance by the Men in Blue as most of the members in the playing XI came good. Now let us have a look at the Player Ratings for Team India

Rohit Sharma- 2/5

After a sensational knock the other day, Rohit failed to put on a substantial score for the 2nd time in succession. After smashing a six of Akila Dananjaya, Rohit perished off a well-directed wrong-un from the same bowler which breached his defense and castled the timbers.

Shikhar Dhawan- 4.5/5

The southpaw looked in ominous touch and from the outset and went on to smack his 10th ODI century in his career. He was hardly troubled by any of the Sri Lankan bowlers as he kept finding the boundaries on a consistent basis. The southpaw struck 13 fours and a couple of humungous sixes en route to his unbeaten 100 of a mere 85 deliveries.

Shreyas Iyer- 4/5

The youngster from Mumbai scored his 2nd half-century of the series and shared a big partnership of 135 runs with Shikhar Dhawan for the 2nd wicket. He struck some delightful shots and looked in complete control of proceedings. Iyer’s knock of 65 of 63 deliveries was studded with 8 fours and a solitary six over the fence.

Dinesh Karthik- 3/5

Karthik came out in the middle in the fall of Iyer’s wicket and struck some gorgeous shots to remain unbeaten on 26 of 31 deliveries. He was the man to hit the winning shot through the cover region as the home team completed a 8 wickets victory.

Manish Pandey- 2/5

He wasn’t required all through the match. Barring a couple of stops in the field, Manish Pandey had almost nothing to do as he wasn’t required with the bat in hand.

MS Dhoni- 2.5/5

The former Indian skipper wasn’t required to bat but with the gloves in hand, he was impressive behind the stumps like on most of the occasions. He was instrumental behind the dismissal of Upul Tharanga while he also caught Asela Gunaratne.

Hardik Pandya- 3.5/5

The all-rounder didn’t bat but with the ball in hand, he returned with a couple of wickets at the expense of 49 runs. He ended with twin strikes of Sachith Pathirana and Suranga Lakmal to finish of the Lankan innings at the score of 215.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar- 3/5

The right-arm medium pacer didn’t had a particularly great game with the ball in hand and bagged a solitary wicket during his spell of 7 overs. He went for some runs as Upul Tharanga and Sadeera Samarawickrama struck some gorgeous shots.

Kuldeep Yadav- 4/5

The left-arm chinaman bowler was at his imperious best as he finished with impressive figures of 3/43 in his allotted 10 overs. Kuldeep spun a web around the Sri Lankan batsmen and consistently bamboozled them with his variations. Upul Tharanga was his first victim at his personal score of 95 while his next two victims was that of Niroshan Dickwella and Akila Dananjaya.

Jasprit Bumrah- 3/5

The lanky speedster went for a few runs in the opening powerplay as the Sri Lankan duo of Tharanga and Samarawickrama was looking in great touch. He ended his spell with the wicket of Danushka Gunathilaka and gave away 39 runs in his 8 overs spell.

Yuzvendra Chahal- 4/5

The leggie complemented his partner Kuldeep Yadav brilliantly and also ended up bagging 3 wickets. He bowled in the right areas and consistently foxed the Sri Lankan batsmen with his variations. Most of his deliveries was getting visious turn and the batsman was unable to pick him up from his hand. Chahal ended up with the wickets of Samarawicklrama, Angelo Mathews and Thisara Perera.
