India vs Australia 2019: Jasprit Bumrah is a Class Act, Has a Great Cricket Brain - Pat Cummins

Australia’s gun fast bowler Pat Cummins has lavished praise on his counterpart, Jasprit Bumrah. Cummins stated that Bumrah is a class act who has a great cricketing brain. Bumrah was at his best in the first T20I against Australia at Vizag. The Indian pacer scalped three wickets and gave away only 16 runs in his four overs quota.

In fact, Bumrah had changed the match on its head in the penultimate over of the match. Australia required 16 runs from the last two overs but Bumrah was right on the money in the 19th over.

Bumrah scalped two wickets and gave away only two runs in his final over. Hence, Bumrah had put India in the driver’s seat as Australia needed another 14 runs in the final over of the match.

However, Umesh Yadav could not defend 14 runs as Australia won the thrilling contest by three wickets. Cummins also helped his side as he smashed a boundary through the covers in the last over.

“He is obviously a class act. Two of the basics he does really well is that he bowls fast and he bowls accurately. Anyone who does that in world cricket will pose a real challenge for the batsmen. He has got a great slower ball, seems to have a great cricketing brain, executes his skills really well,” Cummins said.

“He has done really well in all three formats and the one to watch out for,” added the Aussie speedster ahead of the second and final T20 here Wednesday.

On the other hand, Pat Cummins has also done a great job for Australia. He is at the numero uno position in the ICC Test rankings and he is going to be instrumental for Australia. The talisman pacer is delighted by his current form.

“I haven’t seen too many memes (of myself on social media) but really happy with how my game is going at the moment. So many things have fallen into place. Playing quite consistent cricket has helped,” Cummins said.

“I have not played too much white ball cricket, so looking forward to more of it. It is a bigger challenge with the ball not swinging as much as the red ball.”

Meanwhile, Australia has a chance to clinch the series by 2-0. Consequently, it is going to be a huge opportunity to seal the series. On the other side, India will like to draw level in the series.

“It (leading a series) has not happened for us in a while in an overseas series. Especially in a place like India which is so foreign to Australian conditions, against one of the best sides in the world. It will be a huge result for us, yeah. But we know will have to really play well to beat them tomorrow.”

Australia will take on India in the second T20I at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore.
