India vs Australia 2019: MS Dhoni Hogs the Limelight Ahead of the 3rd ODI in Ranchi

Former India skipper MS Dhoni is undoubtedly one of the finest captains to have ever graced the game. Over the years he has developed a huge fan base and has been a crowd favourite wherever he goes. Ranchi, the city where MS Dhoni belongs to was not known for producing international players. However, after the emergence and the fairytale story of Dhoni, a lot has changed in Ranchi. The city also boasts of a fantastic cricket stadium which is slated to host the 3rd ODI between India and Australia which is scheduled to be played tomorrow.

Ahead of the match, MSD was seen greeting his fans with autographs. They had come down to the stadium to watch some of the finest talents of the game in action during the practice session. Dhoni obliged for selfies and autographs which he normally does. Taking to their twitter handle, BCCI shared the moment and quoted that it wasn’t a surprise seeing so many Dhoni fans in Ranchi.

MS Dhoni hogs the limelight in Ranchi 

“No surprises here – Quite the Flavour in Ranchi – @msdhoni #TeamIndia #INDvAUS @Paytm,” read BCCI’s twitter handle. The crowd is expected to come in large numbers in Ranchi. In all likelihood, it could well be the final international match of Dhoni is his hometown. Hence people is expected to come in large numbers.

MSD has been going through a purple patch in the recent past and has been instrumental in India winning quite a few matches recently. He scored an unbeaten match-winning 59 in the 1st ODI in Hyderabad. However, he couldn’t quite replicate his form in the 2nd ODI and was dismissed for a golden duck to Adam Zampa in Nagpur.

Coming back to the complexion of the series, the hosts are currently leading the series 2-0. They will be eager to seal the series in Ranchi. If they do manage to win the series in Ranchi, the Men in Blue will get a chance to test out their reserve bench in the final two clashes. Though the series is not won yet the home team should look to field some of the players who haven’t been part of the XI in the series so far.
