India vs Australia 2019: MS Dhoni On Verge Of Joining Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar In An Elite List

It has been a brilliant last few days for Mahendra Singh Dhoni in his international career. After the regular failures, MS Dhoni got is nick back and delivering goods on a regular basis for the Indian National Cricket Team. Meanwhile, he is 33 runs away from reaching 17,000 International runs across the formats.
Going by his form, the stalwart player would back himself to add 33 more runs to the overall tally and join Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar among a total of 5 Indians to amass 17,000 runs across all formats in international cricket.
So far, MS Dhoni’s record against Australia has also been quite impressive with four consecutive half-centuries and 1600 ODI runs. He also got 13 fifty-plus scores against Australia, which is second-most by an Indian after Sachin Tendulkar.

MS Dhoni will be the 6th Indian to reach the milestone:
Besides that, MS Dhoni enjoys great success in Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium. Dhoni has scored 268 runs in 5 games, which is the most for any batsman at the venue. India skipper Virat Kohli stands second with 209 runs from four games.
In 2019, Dhoni has scored 301 runs at an average of 150.50, which is the best by any batsman this year. In fact, it is also the second-best average by any batsman in a year given a cutoff of 300 ODI runs.
The other batsmen who have achieved the feat are Sachin Tendulkar (34,357), Rahul Dravid (24,208), Virat Kohli (19,453), Sourav Ganguly (18,575) and Virender Sehwag (17,253).

As far as MS Dhoni is concerned, he has garnered 4,876 runs in Tests, 10,474 runs in ODIs and 1,617 runs in T20Is. Having reached the 1600-run mark in the format during the first ODI, Dhoni is India’s third highest run-getter against Australia.
