The former Indian skipper MS Dhoni has suffered an injury scare ahead of the first One Day International against Australia. The opener of the series is set to be played at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad. Dhoni was hit on his forearm while taking throwdown from specialist Raghavendra.
The talisman batsman had a long batting session in the nets. Dhoni was taking the ball from throwdown specialist like his other teammates. One ball kicked up from the length which struck Dhoni on his right forearm. Thus, the injury has put Dhoni’s place in jeopardy in the first ODI.

Meanwhile, MS Dhoni is back in form which is big positive for the Indian team. However, if he misses out in the playing XI, India’s rookie wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant can keep the wickets.
Dhoni was at his best in the second T20I against Australia where he was able to hit the ground running. The linchpin had scored a blistering knock of 40 runs off just 20 balls as he scored his runs at a healthy strike rate.
Furthermore, the former Indian skipper was the Man of the series in the three-match ODI series against Australia. Dhoni had scored three back to back half-centuries on the Australian tour. The right-hander had amassed 193 runs in the three-match ODI series.

The right-hander who had struggled to rotate the strike in 2018 is slowly but surely getting back the confidence. The right-hander is also rotating the strike with aplomb. However, there is no denying the fact that his power-hitting abilities are on the wane.
The first One Day International between India and Australia will take place at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium on 2nd March. Australia had sealed the T20I series by 2-0.
