It wasn’t the night that Rishabh Pant would ever want in his career, especially, under the current scenarios. He made an absolute mess behind the stumps, which saw the Indian National Cricket Team losing a high-scoring game at Mohali. The impact was that the fans in the stadium chanted the name of Mahendra Singh Dhoni when he missed out stumping.

Not once, Rishabh Pant committed mistake twice behind the stumps. First, it was the stumping chance of Peter Handscomb, who scored a century while in the other case, it was Ashton Turner’s stumping chance, which completely changed the course of the match.

When Ashton Turner escaped the scare, he was on 38 runs with a mounting target on the board. After the chance, Turner took on Indian bowlers by smashing them all over the park. His assault saw them winning the game with 13 balls left in the innings.

As it happened:

Initially, it was India, who won the toss and asked Australians to field first. But, unfortunately, India was once again wrong with ”Dew” playing a part in the second innings. Earlier, Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma put on a 193-run partnership for the opening wicket to break certain records on their way.

However, middle-order once again failed to make the most of the opportunity. The cameos of Rishabh Pant and Vijay Shankar helped India reach a massive 358 on the board. Pat Cummins finished with a five-wicket haul.

In reply, Australia lost two quick wickets thus keeping Indians on the driver seat. However, the 192-run partnership from Usman Khawaja and Peter Handscomb changed thing dramatically for Australia. Just when the game is drifting away, India picked the wicket of Usman Khawaja to make a way back to the game.

However, then came the masterful knock from Ashton Turner, who smashed a blistering 84* off 43 balls to make things fall in place for Australia. All in all, it was a cracker of the contest.
