Former Australian opening batsman Matthew Hayden believes Virat Kohli will be dominant against the Australian team. Kohli has an immaculate record against the Australian side and would like to repeat his performance. The talisman batsman has a great record in the shortest version of the game against Australia.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli was rested from the final two ODIs against New Zealand and the T20I series. Thus, he would be determined to hit the ground running on his comeback. On the other hand, Australia’s young fast bowler Jhye Richardson was able to get the better of Virat Kohli on three occasions. Kohli could only average 5.7 against the prodigy bowler in the three-match ODI series against Australia.

However, Hayden believes Virat Kohli will be able to dominate Jhye Richardson as he would be playing in the home conditions.

“In the recent series (in Australia), Virat did have some trouble against Richardson, who played beautifully, taking Virat’s wicket thrice. But, I believe it will be a very different scenario this time around. Jhye is a young player, not with a lot of experience of playing cricket in India, so I believe Virat will be dominant in this one,” says Hayden while talking to Times of India.

The first T20I between Australia and India will take place on 24th February. Virat Kohli is going to hold the key for the Indian team in the forthcoming ICC World Cup 2019. Kohli has been at the top of his game in the recent past and would like to continue with his good show.

The Indian captain has delivered the goods and his hunger for runs is never satiated. Kohli is churning out runs with great ease and he has completed 39 ODI hundreds.

On the other hand, Jhye Richardson has shown the promise to be the future of Australian cricket. The rookie fast bowler has ticked the right boxes in the domestic circuit and he has hit the ground running in his young career.

Consequently, the battle between Virat Kohli vs Jhye Richardson will once again be the talk of the town.
