India vs Australia 2019: We Bowled Really Well - Nathan Coulter-Nile

Nathan Coulter-Nile continues his love affair of performing well against India. Coulter-Nile was the pick of the Australian bowlers as he scalped three wickets and conceded only 26 runs in his four overs quota in first India vs Australia T20I. The fast bowler was able to hit the right areas and bowled with fire in the first innings. Nathan Coulter-Nile who also impressed in the Big Bash League believes his team bowled really well to restrict India to a paltry score of 126.

Thus, Coulter-Nile played a key role in stemming the run-flow for the hosts. Australia was able to win the nail-biter which swung from one side to another like a pendulum. Jhye Richardson and Pat Cummins held their nerves to help their side get over the line. In fact, 14 runs were required off the final over but Umesh Yadav could not defend them.

Jasprit Bumrah turned the match on its head in the penultimate over of the innings when he took two wickets and gave as many runs. Bumrah scalped three wickets and gave away only 16 runs in his four overs.

Nathan Coulter-Nile said while talking in the post-match presentation, “I thought the boys bowled really well and we scraped home. We worked out quickly that the ball was not coming on to the bat. We have been playing a bit of cricket in the BBL. Really good to have a win and hopefully we will have another one and win the series”.

Meanwhile, India could not hit the ground running in their batting innings. The hosts could manage only 126 runs in their innings after Aaron Finch won the toss and decided to bat first.

Earlier, KL Rahul scored a good knock of 50 runs off just 36 balls with the help of six fours and one six. On the other hand, Glenn Maxwell scored a fine inning of 56 runs from 43 balls which were laced with six fours and two sixes.

In fact, the guests were cruising at one stage but lost track of the run-chase as they veered off the track after losing Maxwell’s wicket. However, Richardson and Cummins were able to provide the finishing touches to the Australian innings.
