India is wounded at the moment. The Australian Kangaroos have struck the most painful paw as they beat India by 10 wickets in the first ODI. It would not be an understatement to accept that this was India’s one of the poorest performances in ODI Cricket in recent times. The batsmen, the bowlers, the fielders, and the Captain, everyone suffered. India just couldn’t find a way out to escape the clutches of Australia.

Talking about Australia, they were all fired up, as always. The pacers were hitting the deck hard and fast. The fielders were quick on their feet to respond and India had absolutely no answer to David Warner and Aaron Finch. From the first minute of the game, it seemed as if Australia had come with only one motive, i.e. dominating the Indians on their home soil.
Both the teams will now face each other in the second ODI. If India has any chance of coming back in the series, it is this game that will give them a chance. Fans and experts raised multiple questions on Virat’s decision-making abilities and he will have to be very balanced while selecting the team. It is clear that Rishabh Pant will not be a part of the squad.

Date and venue: January 17th, 2020, 1:30 pm, Saurashtra Cricket Stadium, Rajkot.

Rishabh Pant will no longer be part of the second ODI as he suffered a blow in the first ODI. This makes way for K.L. Rahul to be a part of the side. But, his batting position will still be an unsolved question. Shardul Thakur might be dropped for the second ODI and Navdeep Saini might be added to the squad.

Predicted XI: Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, K.L. Rahul, Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Kuldeep Yadav, Navdeep Saini.

Australia were fantastic in all aspects of the game in the first ODI. They might go with unchanged squads in the second ODI. David Warner and Aaron Finch gave no chance to any other batsman to show their potential. The fast bowlers were right on the mark and the spinners too, performed decently well.

Predicted XI: David Warner, Aaron Finch (C), Steve Smith, Peter Handscomb, Ashton Turner, Alex Carey (WK), Ashton Agar, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Adam Zampa, Josh Hazlewood

Match Prediction:

India are 1-0 down in the series. The men in blue will have to give it their all if they desire to make a comeback in the series. Virat Kohli and his men will be seen playing a much aggressive brand of cricket. Considering the home advantage and the hunger to strike back, India can be expected to make a comeback and go 1-1 in the series.
