Hitman of India cricket, Rohit Sharma finally roared back to form with a sensational 95 against Australia in the 4th ODI at the PCA Stadium in Mohali. It was a sensational innings to say the least and just when he looked set for yet another ODI century, he fell to a mistimed shot of the ball of Jhye Richardson. He had pulled the previous delivery for a boundary and had attempted to hit a six of the very next delivery. However, he wasn’t able to time it perfectly and the catch was taken easily in the end by Peter Handscomb.

However, Shikhar Dhawan is still at the crease and has already scored his century. The southpaw is looking in great touch and if he is there till the end of the innings we might be looking at a score of 400.

It was Indian skipper Virat Kohli who won the toss and opted to bat. Both Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan was short of runs coming into the match. With just a couple of matches before the World Cup, the opening duo needed to come good and they did that in style. Shikhar Dhawan, in particular, looked in ominous touch and took the Australian bowlers to the cleaners.

Rohit Sharma played the 2nd fiddle during the first 15 overs as Shikhar Dhawan was ruling the roost5. It was in the middle overs when Rohit Sharma started finding the boundaries on a consistent basis and got close to Dhawan’s score. He might have got to his century earlier than Dhawan but that wasn’t to be. The sensational partnership finally came to an end after the duo shared 193 runs. It was Aaron Finch and Usman Khawaja who had also shared a 193 runs opening stand in the previous match in Ranchi.
