Team India opener Rohit Sharma expressed his disbelief at an umpiring decision during the 3rd ODI against Australia at the JSCA Sports Complex in Ranchi which is currently underway. Rohit Sharma was surprised to see his decision being overturned by the 3rd umpire as he believed that he had hit the ball which went on to strike his leg guards.

The onfield umpire Shamsuddin was convinced just like Rohit Sharma that he had got an edge But the replays showed that the ball had hit the pad first. The ball tracking machine further revealed that it would have crashed onto the stumps. Rohit Sharma was very disappointed with the dismissal and his reaction was something which would definitely interest the Match referee. He felt that he had got a bat and the 3rd umpire had given a wrong decision. Even after strolling back to the pavilion, he wanted to confirm that he was indeed struck on the pad first.

Rohit Sharma hasn’t produced a big score in the series so far

Rohit Sharma hasn’t been in the best of touches in the series so far. 3 low scores and the pressure has mounted on the home team. The inability o the openers to get them off to flying starts has been an area of concern for the home team especially with just a couple of matches to go before the 2019 World Cup. However, you can never predict anything with Rohit. In the next innings only we can witness a big knock from the Hitman. Till then the team management will be worried about the opening combination.

Currently, the visiting Australian side is bossing the 3rd ODI in Ranchi. After being put into bat by Virat Kohli, Australia posted a commendable 312 on the board in their allotted 50 overs. However, they would be disappointed to not get beyond the 350 mark. They looked well set to cross 350 at one stage. But it was the dismissal of Glenn Maxwell which pulled them back.

With the bat in hand, the home team lost two wickets pretty early in the form of Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma’s wicket. Ambati Rayudu was castled by a terrific delivery from Pat Cummins. When the article was written India had lost 3 wickets for 51 runs. MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli is currently at the crease.
