One of the finest talents in Indian cricket KL Rahul failed to make full use of his opportunity during the 4th ODI against Australia as the Karnataka batsman was dismissed by Adam Zampa after making a dodgy 26 of 31 deliveries. He never got a perfect flow in his innings was finally dismissed by a short of length delivery from Zampa. The stylish right-hander wanted to play a late cut but edged it straight to the wicket-keeper Alex Carey.

KL Rahul gets trolled on Twitter

Following yet another failure in international cricket, people started trolling Rahul on Twitter of not making full use of his opportunity at No 3. Rahul was promoted ahead of captain Virat Kohli in the batting order despite Kohli scoring back to back centuries in the series at the No 3 position. It was a ploy taken by the Indian management to make Rahul get some much-needed match practice.

It was the Indian skipper Virat Kohli who won the toss and opted to bat. Both the openers needed some runs behind their belt. Shikhar Dhawan began in a splendid manner and took the Australian bowlers to the cleaners. Rohit Sharma played the 2nd fiddle and slowly started building the innings. It was during the middle stages when Rohit caught up with Dhawan and was in contention of scoring the century earlier than Dhawan.

On 95 he played a mistimed pull which was safely taken by Peter Handscomb. Shikhar Dhawan completed his century and simply went to 5th gear with some whirlwind display of batsmanship following his century. The southpaw kept smashing the Australian bowlers all around the park and raced off to 143. He was finally castled by a full-length delivery from Pat Cummins.

From there on it was a good comeback by Australia to restrict India to 355. They were looking in pursuit of a score in excess of 380. In the end, it was Vijay Shankar who batted well to take India past the 350 mark. It will definitely be a tough task for the Aussies. However, with two wrist spinners in the XI in the form of Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal, India would definitely back themselves to seal the series today.
