In what comes as heartening news for the Virat Kohli-led Indian Cricket Team, they can now start their training in Australia once they return the mandatory Covid test negative upon reaching Australia.
There were a lot of speculations about whether the tourists will be allowed to train during the mandatory quarantine process upon their landing Down Under even though the isolation period cannot be reduced in the wake of Covid-19.
Team India will land in Australia on November 12, and as per ANI, the Virat Kohli-led outfit can hit the ground running from the very next day given they return negative on Covid-PCR tests.
“The team reaches Australia on November 12 morning and after that, they will undergo corona tests, and the moment they have negative reports, they are eligible to train so you can expect the boys to start training from November 13 onwards,” the source said.
Meanwhile, captain Virat Kohli, openers Mayank Agarwal, KL Rahul, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and other Team India members have joined the bubble created for Australia bound players in the UAE following the culmination of their respective franchises’ IPL campaign.
Even though the tourist does not have their throwdown specialist Raghu, who has not joined the team due to covid, they do have a throwdown specialist in Sri Lankan Nuwan Seneviratne, whose left-arm angle will help them prepare for the Mitchell Starc-led Aussie attack.
Besides that, India will be also taking the likes of T Natarajan, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Ishan Porel, and Kartik Tyagi with them in order to optimize their batting practice. India and Australia will lock horns in six white-ball internationals followed by the all-important Border-Gavaskar Trophy, starting December 17 with the Pink ball Test at the Adelaide Oval.
