The day is finally here. India and Bangladesh will finally make their debut in day-night Test with the pink ball. The excitement is all around as not only the fans but the players as well as organisers are excited for the historic match. BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has taken the onus on himself to make the game a grand affair and the preparations have been quite special so far.

Talking about the series, India are leading the two-match series after the thumping win in the first Test. The hosts thrashed Bangladesh by an innings and 130 runs inside three days to assert their supremacy. The Virat Kohli-led side are favourites to make light work of the visitors again. Bangladesh, on the other hand, need to play out of their skins to even challenge India let alone winning the match and drawing the series.

Toss Report:

Bangladesh have won the toss and decided to bat first against India at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

Here is what the captains said:

Mominul Haque:

“We will bat first, the wicket is dry and hard, so that’s why we want to bat first. It’s a brave decision we feel. It’s a great opportunity for everyone. Two changes for us.”

Virat Kohli:

“We would have batted first as well. Decent grass cover on it, but it’s a hard pitch. With the pink ball there will be something for the first 15 overs. This is another opportunity for us to come and execute our skills. The challenge is to adapt quickl to the ball. It travels fast and it’s difficult to control.”
