Team India will be desperate to bounce back when they take on Bangladesh in the second T20I in Rajkot. Bangladesh currently lead the series after winning the series-opener by seven wickets. The win was Bangladesh’s first-ever against India in the shortest format of the game. The visitors had defied all the odds to come up with a winning performance.

Despite missing the likes of Shakib Al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal, the Mahmudullah-led side stunned their fancied hosts to register the historic win. Asked to bat first in Delhi, India recovered from a shaky start to post a challenging total of 148 for 6 in the allotted 20 overs. The hosts were off to a poor start as their skipper Rohit Sharma departed in the very first over.

Shikhar Dhawan top-scored with 41 while Rishabh Pant scored 27 from 26. The likes of Shreyas Iyer, Krunal Pandya and Washington Sundar also played handy knocks. For Bangladesh, Shafiul Islam and Aminul Islam picked up two wickets apiece.

In reply, Bangladesh chased down the total with three balls remaining. Senior batsman Mushfiqur Rahim starred with the bat, scoring an unbeaten 60. In the 19th over, Rahim hit four consecutive fours to all but put the game to the bed before skipper Mahmudullah hit a six to take the team over the line.

All eyes are now on the Rajkot game where India will be looking to bounce back and Bangladesh will be keen to make the most of the win. The Rohit Sharma-led side needs to win the game at any cost to keep the series alive. However, their hopes could be dashed by the current weather condition in the city due to Cyclone Maha. The cyclone dumped a large amount of water in the stadium on Wednesday and things look very gloomy at the moment.

Here are some pictures of how the stadium looked on Wednesday night:

The weather prediction for Thursday isn’t very promising either and it would not be very surprising if rain affects the match.
