It was yet another brilliant piece of the display by Indian National Cricket Team in New Zealand. They outsmarted Kane Williamson-led side in all departments of the game to take a 90-run victory in the second ODI of the game at Bay Oval. Rohit Sharma masterful knock coupled with the bowling section stunning show did the trick for India.

Initially, it was Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan, who started things brilliantly for India. Later, it was followed by the masterful knocks from Virat Kohli, Rayudu to balance the ship while Kedar Jadhav and MS Dhoni gave a perfect finish.

In second innings, New Zealand batsmen once again faltered to tackle the top-class Indian bowling attack. They have fallen prey to the brilliance of Kuldeep Yadav and Co to see themselves stay on the wrong side of things.

Good signs with the ball at some points – Kane Williamson

The skipper of New Zealand, Kane Williamson isn’t pleased with the performance whatsoever. Kane added that he isn’t bothered about the loss but he is worried about the way, they are losing the game. He wants the team to show their character and lauded the bowling effort, for pulling the team back into the game.

”Little frustrating, not so much the loss but how we are losing is the problem. Credit to India. Both surfaces so far have been slower than usual but still fair surfaces. Good signs with the ball at some points though we never got control as such. 324 was a good score that could be chased down here. There were some good steps forward, particularly by our bowlers to keep them down to 320-odd,” Kane Williamson quoted.

”Important not to carried away by results and focus just on small steps. Some of the dismissals were a result of us going too hard maybe. If we had wickets in hand, you never know but we didn’t have wickets in hand. Those are the lessons that we need to take ahead,” he added.

Well, as Kane Williamson said, there are few positive points to take from the game, as far as the bowling section is concerned. But, there needs a lot of fine-tuning to make things happen in the batting department, which is faring pretty poorly.

From now, it is going to be a do-or-die scenario for New Zealand, as the loss will end up giving a series victory to Indan National Cricket Team.
