Yet another day and yet again a classic stat in the record books for Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The former Indian skipper has joined Mohammad Azharuddin in the most number of ODI games for the Indian National Cricket Team. He equalled the record in the second ODI game at Bay Oval, on Saturday.

Mohammad Azharuddin appeared for India in 334 ODI games while MS Dhoni also joined him at the very same number after featuring in the second ODI against New Zealand. Now, he is on the course to surpass Rahul Dravid, who got 340 games under his belt.

MS Dhoni is just 6 games away from equalling Rahul Dravid:

It is certain that Mahendra Singh Dhoni would beat Rahul Dravid in the next few games but most probably, it would be his last achievement in that list, as Sachin Tendulkar sits pretty much at the top with 463 ODI games in his kitty.

Coming to the second ODI game of the series, it was Indian Cricket Team, who completely dominated things at Bay Oval. They have outsmarted hosts in all departments of the game to seal the second game on the trot in a 5-match Test series.

Initially, it was Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan, who delivered the goods at top of the order. Then, the flamboyant Indian skipper Virat Kohli and Ambati Rayudu have balanced things in the middle.

Indian spinners delivered again:

Just when things looked bleak for the visitors, MS Dhoni and Kedar Jadhav threw their kitchen sink on a consistent basis to post a massive tally on the board. None of the Kiwis bowlers looked like tackling Indian batsmen.

In reply, New Zealand batsmen once again faltered to the class of Indian bowlers. Especially, against Kuldeep Yadav, New Zealand batsmen looked clueless, who gave a 4-wicket haul for the youngster. Yuzvendra Chahal was also brilliant with his spell as well.

All in all, it was a brilliant show by the Indian Cricket Team on the eve of Republic Day. Now, they would like to seal the series when they lock horns in the third ODI at the very same venue.

I just love what I script. Over the years, Cricket has been my passion and crisping articles on it gives me an immense pleasure...Cheers...!!!
