Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan Leapfrogs Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag in Most Century Stands

India’s opening pair of Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma has leapfrogged Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag in the most number of century stands. The legendary Sachin Tendulkar and combative Virender Sehwag scored 13 opening stands of a hundred or more. Meanwhile, Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma have now scored 14-century stands while opening the innings for India.

On the other hand, the most number of century stands belongs to the legendary pair of former skipper Sourav Ganguly and Sachin Tendulkar. The talismanic duo added century stands on 26 occasions in the ODI format.

Dhawan and Rohit continue to impress.

Meanwhile, India’s current captain Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have added 15 century stands between them. Thus, India’s top three batsmen have done the bulk of the scoring for them.

Both the current openers have added an alliance of 142 and they are looking ominous. Rohit Sharma is currently batting on 72 whereas Shikhar Dhawan has scored 65. Both of them are looking good to get a daddy hundred and a big score is on the cards.

Meanwhile, both Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma have been instrumental in the success of the India National Cricket Team. Dhawan and Rohit Sharma started opening the innings for India since the Champions Trophy 2013 and they have ticked the right boxes.

India is currently leading by 1-0 in the five-match series and would like to continue the impetus.
