India’s middle-order batsman Dinesh Karthik pulled off a spectacular catch while fielding at long on. Karthik took a leap while jumping up and he was aware to get rid of the ball as the momentum was taking him over the ropes. The right-hander was able to get back into the playing area to take a fine catch. In fact, Karthik touched the boundary ropes while coming back to take the catch. However, he was not in contact with a rope when he dived forward to complete the fine catch.

Consequently, Daryll Mitchell could only score eight runs on his T20I debut. Meanwhile, Dinesh Karthik had missed a simple catch when Tim Seifert was on 71 runs. Karthik could not get himself into a good position and took away his eyes away from the ball. Thus, it was a good comeback from DK.

On the other hand, Dinesh Karthik has done a fine job in providing the finishing touches to the Indian innings. However, he was unfortunate to miss out in the final ODI against New Zealand. India played Kedar Jadhav and Ambati Rayudu in the playing XI.

Meanwhile, India’s stand-in skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss in the ongoing first T20I against New Zealand at Westpac Stadium in Wellington. Tim Seifert and Colin Munro provided a fine start to the innings as they added 86 runs for the opening stand.

Both the batters attacked from the outset and helped their side get off to a flyer. New Zealand wicketkeeper-batsman Tim Seifert batted at the top of his game. The right-hander stroked a blistering knock of 84 runs off just 43 balls laced with seven fours and half-a-dozen sixes. Hence, he was able to take the Indian bowlers to the cleaners.

Here is the wicket of Daryl Mitchell in which DK pulled off a stunner:
