New Zealand fast bowler Matt Henry was able to get rid of India’s stand-in skipper Rohit Sharma in the fifth over of the innings. Henry was able to get the movement and took the ball away from the right-hander. Rohit was beaten and Henry was able to hit the stumps. Thus, New Zealand got off to a good start.
The start turned from good to great when the Kiwis was able to take three more wickets. Shikhar Dhawan went for the uppercut but found the fielder at third man. Shubman Gill once again made the mistake of hitting the ball in the air and perished in the process.

Rohit could not get going.
MS Dhoni was done by Trent Boult who bowled a fine inswinger to hit the top of off stump. Dhoni was late to get his bat down in time and it was a peach of a delivery from New Zealand’s premier fast bowler Trent Boult.
Subsequently, Vijay Shankar and Ambati Rayudu were able to steady the ship as India was left tumbling at 18-4. Both the right-handers added a pivotal alliance of 98 runs before Vijay Shankar was unfortunate to get run-out. Shankar was able to hit the ground running from the get-go and scored a good knock of 45 runs.

In fact, the all-rounder was looking good for more but the misunderstanding between him and Rayudu led to his downfall. However, Rayudu is looking good and he has completed his fifty.
On the other hand, India has already sealed the ongoing five-match series against New Zealand. India was able to win the first three ODIs whereas New Zealand won the fourth match by eight wickets.
