South Africa produced an outstanding comeback to end the series 1-1 beating India by nine wickets at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Newly appointed Proteas skipper Quinton de Kock, who led the team from the front seemed happy with the intensity shown by his players.

India struggled to get going in Bengaluru after skipper Virat Kohli won the toss and elected to bat first. Apart from Shikhar Dhawan (36 from 25 balls), nobody looked to get the hang off the surface, which is dry and slow.

The Indian team threw their wickets away but the credit goes to South African bowlers for hitting the right areas. Beuran Hendricks was the pick of the bowlers who returned with two for 14 after Kagiso Rabada made a wayward start. The home side just couldn’t get going and could only manage 134 runs from their 20 overs.

“I think we kept it nice and simple with the bowl, hitting the good length. Beuran came in and bowled really well, he read the situation right tonight. We fixed one of two things quickly with the ball from the last game, for them to act to quickly was a positive for me. The intensity and the fielding parts are also things that really impressed me. As long as the boys are hungry, I am perfectly happy with that,” de Kock said after the game.
