India vs Sri Lanka 2020: 1st T20I, Guwahati – Sri Lanka’s Predicted Playing XI;¬†After having an ordinary season in 2019, Sri Lanka side is set to start their campaign with an away series in the new year. They will be up against the strong Indian National Cricket Team. The Island nation would hope to find their solutions in the series to finalise their squad for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2020. The board brought back their experienced players to the side for the 3-match T20I series.

Though they are finding it tough in ODI and Test forms, the team is doing pretty well in the shorter format of the game under the captaincy of Lasith Malinga. The second-string side had a memorable tour to Pakistan, where they displayed top-notch skills to clean sweep the host nation. Now, they would like to repeat the show in India.

1. Danushka Gunathilaka:

The youngster had an excellent series in Pakistan. He started the series with the man of the match award and continued to be an asset for the team. Danushka will be crucial for Sri Lanka against the Virat Kohli-led side as well. Besides his batting, Gunathilaka can offer his off-spin for the captain. He can be one of the threats to India.

2. Kusal Perera:

The stylish southpaw has always been a match-winner for Sri Lanka. He got the talent to turn the tables for his side quickly. Kusal Perera also got a good record against the Indian team, especially in this format of the game. He is one of those players, on whom, Sri Lanka will rely.

The flamboyant batsman is one of the crucial players for Sri Lanka in the T20 format. He got the knack of scoring big tallies with ease and would like to make the most of the big stage against India. His consistency at the top order will be crucial for Sri Lanka to take the initial advantage of the game against India.

4. Bhanuka Rajapaksha:

The youngster would like to show what he is capable of doing in the middle. He can take the game away from the opposition with his explosive batting in the middle. One of the pillars for the team in the batting order. Rajapaksha garnered the name for his knocks under pressure.

The experienced all-rounder Angelo Mathews is back in the mix for Sri Lanka. He knows the conditions of the country and is an asset for the team. With the bat, he can change the complexion of the game, and it will be interesting to see whether he will bowl or not.

6. Niroshan Dickwella:

The youngster will take the wicket-keeper role for the team. And also, he will do the finisher role for the team in this format of the game. Niroshan Dickwella has always been an enthusiastic cricketer and very fine wicket-keeper available in the ranks for Sri Lanka.

7. Dasun Shanaka:

The right-handed all-rounder is in the form of his life with the bat and the ball. He is delivering those goods regularly to make things fall in place for the team. Dasun Shanaka can change the complexion of the game on his day with his big-hitting skills. Besides that, he is a handy bowling option as well.

8. Wanindu Hasaranga:

The young spinner had a sensational tour to Pakistan. He was the man of the series in the previous tour, where he picked eight wickets to his name in three games. Hasaranga can trouble the batsman on Guwahati track with his turn and bounce. He can also whack the ball cleanly down the order.

9. Isuru Udana:

The left-arm fast bowler was one of the surprises in the IPL 2020 auction when RCB picked him for INR 50 Lakhs. He developed great skills with the bat and uses his variations with the ball. Isuru Udana is one of the match-winners for Sri Lanka.

10. Lasith Malinga:

Well, no one knows the Indian conditions better than Lasith Malinga. The yorker specialist had glorious success on Indian tracks, playing for Mumbai Indians in the IPL. Besides his bowling, Malinga will be on the screen for his captaincy duty as well.

The fast bowler from Sri Lanka, Lahiru Kumara impressed with his pace in Australia. He has got the swing and always hits those uncomfortable lines and lengths for the batsman. Besides that, Lahiru Kumara developed an excellent slower ball to get the better of the batsman which will come in handy in Indian wickets.
