Team India will be raring to go when they lock horns with Sri Lanka in the second game of the series at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore on January 7 (Tuesday). After a complete washout in the first game in Guwahati, the Men in Blues will want to take an unassailable lead against a young Sri Lankan side in their first game of the year.

It has been a tiring day in Guwahati as players from both camps had to wait long before the officials called the game off. They will hope to get some game time in Indore. Meanwhile, India will be high on their confidence after a dominating home season beating South Africa, Bangladesh, and West Indies back to back to finish the year.

Although the selectors have given some rest, the presence of Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul will give no respite for the Sri Lankan bowlers. Also, the return of Jasprit Bumrah in the bowling department will be a massive booster for the home side ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2020 in Australia.

On the other hand, the young Sri Lankan side had a mixed bag before landing in India. They routed Pakistan 3-0 away from home only to lose to Australia. The Lasith Malinga-led side has handed a return to experienced all-rounder Angelo Mathews which will give them stead in the middle-order against top-class Indian bowlers.
