The ongoing three-match Twenty20 International series India Vs Sri Lanka has already won by the number one in ICC Tests rankings (India). The dead-rubber is scheduled at the iconic Wankhede Stadium on Sunday (December 24) with India batsmen were seen pummeling the Sri Lankan bowlers before spinners caught the visiting side in the tangle to further sunk the hapless unit.

With the Lions aiming to salvage some pride after some unwanted records to their name, but it seems highly impossible to challenge the hosts.

So much so, the stand-in skipper brought up his fastest Twenty20 hundred, as the promising spin duo in the form of Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav has grabbed all the headlines for steamrolling the Islanders fragile batting line-up.

On a placid surface like the Holkar Stadium in Indore, the only highlight for Lankan came in the form of top-order batsman Kusal Perera who smashed 37-ball 77 runs, as his quickfire innings was comprised of seven maximums and four boundaries.

Moreover, the Lankan bowlers were struggling with the ball which further saw Rohit plundering runs at will to see the bowling department of Thisara Perera dropping off their shoulders after the latter decided to bowl first while taking the due into consideration on a belter of a 22-yard surface.

As there seems no respite from miseries for Lanka, the final match of the bilateral series might add more woes to Sri Lanka owing to their timid approach and the way they have let down each other in the fielding apart from the batting and bowling department.

The superlative performances from hosts’ players have dented the morale of the Islanders, with Rohit breaking the slew of the records while relying on his splendid batting.

However, the decent start with the bat allowed India to post the second-highest innings total after Australia’s 263 which came in 2016 against Lanka.

Moreover, KL Rahul has been in some form while connecting the ball well on a feather-bed in Indore where he scored brisk 49-ball 89 runs.

The well-oiled team is further looking forward to putting another credible performance

After the quality batting battered the bowlers by Team India, the only hope for the visitors seemed to be in the promising Kusal Perera who scored at the strike-rate of 208.10 in Indore, but that was not enough as the toothless Lions kept on losing the wickets.

For the second wicket, Perera alongside Upul Tharanga forged 109 runs for the second-wicket which further saw seven Lankan batsmen failed to cross-past the double-figure mark.

However, as the struggling Lanka has already lost all-rounder Angelo Mathews due to the hamstring that further saw him limping off the ground during his follow-through.

Batsman Danushka Gunathilaka is expected to replace Mathews or Thisara has an option in the form of Sadeera Samarawickrama.

As India has already been the favourite for the ongoing series, but Sri Lanka utterly failed to spring the surprise with the result expected to be in India’s favour owing to the scoreline of 3-0.

It’s highly-likely that Rohit Sharma would look to the ball first even being seen the surface as a placid one.

On the other side, Perera has no option but to opt for the batting.

While talking about the buoyant performance from India, it’s expected to witness a couple of changes in the side for the final fixture of the T20I game.

The right-handed batsman Dinesh Karthik, who didn’t bat in the first two innings, might be replaced by promising Deepak Hooda as Jaydev Unadkat might make way for Basil Thumpi.

Suppose, if India happened to bat first they could post 190-plus on the board, and if Sri Lanka would turn to bat first they could go past 160.
