India vs West Indies 2018: Third T20I To Be Played As Scheduled, Confirms TNCA
Putting an end to all the confusion and uncertainty, The Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA), on Thursday, stated that the third T20 International between India and West Indies will be held on November 4 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium according to the schedule.
The ongoing issue of complimentary passes was the reason behind the dispute between the TNCA and the BCCI. The cricket associations of Madhya Pradesh, Bengal as well as Tamil Nadu had made it clear that they would not accept the BCCI’s new rule regarding the complimentary passes.
The second ODI between India and West Indies has already been shifted to Visakhapatnam from Indore due to the same reason. Under the new constitution of the BCCI, which has been approved by the Supreme Court, only 10% of tickets for each category can be distributed as complimentary.
However, according to a report in PTI, TNCA said that the CoA have accepted their demands and the match will be according to schedule.
“We are awaiting a confirmation mail from the BCCI and I can tell you that match will be happening in Chennai. There had been extensive discussions and the CoA has understood our rationale behind sticking to the old formula of membership passes. It’s a great news for cricket lovers in Chennai,” a TNCA official said.
After the ongoing Test series, the ODIs will get underway from October 21. Guwahati will host the series-opener before the two teams will take on each other at Indore (October 24), Pune (October 27), Mumbai (October 29) and Thiruvananthapuram (November 1).
The T20Is will be held in Kolkata (November 4), Lucknow (November 6) and Chennai (November 11).
