India vs West Indies 2019: 3rd ODI, Cuttack – Match Prediction; Much like T20I series, the ODI series also grabbed much attention with both the teams winning one game each. The final ODI in Cuttack is going to be a massive event, with the fans of either team set to attend the game in large numbers. It is expected to be a cracking contest with both the teams heading into the game with a point to prove themselves and seal the victory to end the calendar year on a positive note.

The Indian side will be riding high on confidence after they comprehensively defeated the West Indies team in the second ODI and levelled the 3-match series 1-1. On the other hand, West Indies team would be looking to end the tour with a series victory to their name in the record books.

The Indian openers who failed to produce a strong partnership in the first ODI put on a superlative 227 run partnership in the second ODI. Rohit Sharma scored his 28th ODI century whereas his partner in crime KL Rahul scored his 3rd ODI hundred. The middle-order batsmen utilised the strong platform provided by the openers and propelled the team’s score to a mammoth 387.

Navdeep Saini might replace Deepak Chahar in Playing XI:

Virat Kohli endured a rare failure in ODIs. India went with the 5th bowler Shardul Thakur in the second ODI ahead of the seam bowling all-rounder Shivam Dube, and the move paid dividends as Shardul gave India an early breakthrough. Mostly, they would go with a similar strategy, especially after Navdeep Saini entry into the team.

Coming to West Indies,  they have looked a different unit altogether under Kieron Pollard. They have been more mature and more composed than before and more importantly, they seem to have a game-plan when they bat. West Indies went with a slightly defensive approach in Vishakhapatnam as they dropped the wrist-spinner Hayden Walsh for the left-arm spinner, Khary Pierre.

The move backfired as Pierre didn’t provide the control the Windies were looking. Hayden Walsh might return for the decider as he will be a wicket-taking option in the middle overs. The rest of the West Indies line-up should remain the same. They have been very competitive in the series, and there is no reason why they shouldn’t believe they can get better of India and win the series.

India vs West Indies 2019: 3rd ODI – Match Prediction

India have been outstanding in the series deciders in white-ball cricket recently. Whenever they are under the pump, they come out with their best performance. However, this time, it is going to be different with the inexperienced bowling attack in the lineup.

On the other hand, West Indies also bolstered with quite a few match-winners, who can single-handedly take the game away from the opposition. In big games like the upcoming ODI, anything might happen, but the prediction is that India will win the series.
