India vs West Indies 2019: India’s Predicted 15-Member T20I Squad; After the completion of Bangladesh series, now, it is time for India to play 2-time world champions West Indies. They thrashed Mahmudullah-led Bangladesh team before levelling series with Quinton de Kock-led South Africa. Though Indians have got remarkable stats in longer version of the game, the stats in T20I format show that Indians aren’t invincible in their home conditions.

After Quinton de Kock surprised India, Bangladesh gave a lot of homework to do for India following the encounter at Delhi. Now, against West Indies, it is going to be a cracker of the contest with West Indies’players adapt to this format better than the rest. Besides that, they would like to make the most of the conditions as well.

Before heading into the series, it would be interesting to see whether India will make any changes to the squad or not. Meanwhile, we have figured out the 15-member squad for the T20I series against West Indies. Here are they:

1. Rohit Sharma:

The right-handed batsman was decent for India in the 3-match series against Bangladesh. Though he failed to make things fall in place in the first T20I game, Rohit Sharma found his form back to deliver in the second match at Rajkot. Unfortunately, he went for a cheap score in final T20I but led the team to perfection. He will be a certain starter in the Indian team for the series against West Indies.

2. Shikhar Dhawan:

Surprisingly, after his comeback into the Indian team, Shikhar Dhawan wasn’t looking at his best. He looked out of the touch with the bat and also knocked runs at a low strike rate. Though he bagged runs, the strike rate of Shikhar Dhawan was the major problem. However, he would get one more opportunity, which will decide his future in the Indian team as well.

In the absence of Virat Kohli, KL Rahul got the chance to show his calibre. However, he failed to make use of it in the first two games but proved his worth in the final T20I. Despite the knock, he is still standing on the block of thin ice. The upcoming series against West Indies will be his last opportunity to show his mettle.

4. Virat Kohli:

The skipper of the Indian team, who missed out from the winning campaign against Bangladesh, will return to the team for West Indies series. He always carried a tremendous record against West Indies and would like to repeat the same in the upcoming series. Virat Kohli would also like to regain number one position in quite a few charts, which he was dethroned in the recent past by quite a few players.

He was the main contributor for India in the previous series. In fact, Shreyas Iyer has proved himself in the series against South Africa as well. The flamboyant batsman will once again be in the squad for the series against West Indies. He would like to own number 4 spot in the team.

6. Manish Pandey:

The Karnataka batsman might retain his position ahead of Sanju Samson considering his experience at this level. Manish Pandey has got his chance to bat in only one game, in which, he scored 22 runs off 13 balls. He fairly did his job, which would see the selectors backing him for the upcoming series.

7. Rishabh Pant:

It was yet another series to forget for Rishabh Pant as far as his batting figures are considered. His slow batting at Delhi costed the game for India while in 2nd T20I, the stylish southpaw hasn’t got the chance but he was on the headlines for his schoolboy errors behind the stumps. Still, the selection panel would like to give him a go for the upcoming as he is tagged to be future of India.

8. Axar Patel:

Well, this would be the surprise that selectors would ring in for the West Indies series. The left-handed all-rounder has got the goods to deliver with the ball and improved his batting skills down the order to smash it for the team. The flamboyant cricketer would eye to cement his position in the team if given chance by the team management.

9. Krishnappa Gowtham:

The all-rounder from Karnataka is yet another player in the contention to seal a spot in the Indian team. The flamboyant cricketer is an off-spinner, who can restrict the opposition in powerplay overs and a handy batsman down the order. He is one of those cricketers, who can win you matches on his day irrespective of how hard the task is.

The young all-rounder has proved his worth down the order as the batsman and also delivered goods with the ball. Though he wasn’t present in the wicket-takers’ list, Washington Sundar made sure to be in the performer’s list for the team. With the skipper backing, Sundar would stay in the team for quite a period of time.

11. Shivam Dube:

The all-rounder has got his maiden cap in the Bangladesh series and also got the opportunity to prove himself in the middle. However, unfortunately, he failed to deliver the desired goods for the team. But, all those stains vanished out when he delivered a brilliant spell in the final T20I at a crucial juncture of the game. Certainly, it will give him nod for one more time in the team.

12. Bhuvneshwar Kumar:

Following the series against West Indies, Bhuvneshwar Kumar failed to receive a call-up across the formats for obvious reasons. However, he would return for the series against West Indies. The experienced campaigner might replace Khaleel Ahmed, who proved costly for India in the previous series against Bangladesh.

13. Deepak Chahar:

It was a fantastic series for Deepak Chahar against Bangladesh. Chahar was the only bowler, who looked like giving competition in the middle during the entire series. He bowled superb line and lengths to get the better of Bangladesh. Besides his bowling in powerplay overs, Deepak Chahar delivered in the death overs as well. He finished the last T20I game with the figures of 6/7 in his 4 overs.

14. Yuzvendra Chahal:

Chahal showed what an experienced campaigner can do in the middle. Apart from the final T20I where dew played a role, Chahal delivered the goods whenever Rohit Sharma showed faith in him. He was assigned to do tough tasks, which he obliged and delivered to his best. Chahal will certainly be the important player against West Indies.

15. Shardul Thakur:

Unfortunately, he is the only player, who failed to get a spot in the playing XI against Bangladesh. Shardul Thakur would retain his position in the Indian team for the West Indies series. It will be a Test for him to showcase his skills in the middle.
