Ahead of the second ODI game in Visakhapatnam, the players of the Indian National Cricket Team and the West Indies Cricket Team have observed silence for a Minute for the former West Indies’ cricketer Basil Butcher. He passed away on Tuesday at the age of 86 years. Butcher was the first cricketer from the Amerindian descent to represent the West Indies.
Butcher, who made his Test debut in 1958 against India, scored 486 runs in the series at an average of 69.42. He played 44 Tests for the West Indies, amassing 3104 runs with seven centuries and 16 fifties at an average of 43. In India, Butcher had scored 486 runs at an average of 69.42, including centuries at Kolkata and Chennai.

West Indies’ players wore black armbands:
Teams didn’t sing the national anthems ahead of the game as a mark of respect to the former West Indian. The Kieron Pollard-led side is playing the game with black armbands as well. Getting into the details of the game, both the teams will look to get the better off the other to make things fall in place.
The Indian team led by Virat Kohli once again lost the toss, as Kieron Pollard called it right at the toss. Straight away, Pollard asked the Indian team to defend the tally once again on the board. The Indian team made one change to their previous lineup by asking Shardul Thakur to replace Shivam Dube.

On the other hand, West Indies made a couple of changes to their lineup with Evin Lewis back in the side. He replaced Sunil Ambris while Khary Pierre replaced Hayden Walsh Jnr to make his ODI debut. Kieron Pollard stated that they are looking to seal the series in Visakhapatnam, after an impressive victory in Chennai.
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli is hoping to come good in Vizag to level the series. He believes all his players head into the game with an intensity to deliver the required goods.
