Yet another series set to make its way to entertain the fans. The full strength side of India is set to take on under-performing Windies on October 21st in Guwahati. Meanwhile, we figured out the Windies’ Predicted XI for the first ODI of India vs Windies 2018 series on Sunday.

Here is the Windies’ Predicted XI:

1. Chanderpaul Hemraj:

The youngster might get his maiden cap for the Windies in the first ODI against India. The stylish southpaw has got all the qualities of his father, Shivnarine Chanderpaul to become the great of the game.

However, as they say, it needs the application from the youngster to deliver the goods for his country. With Gayle and Lewis away from the team, Hemraj would like to utilise the chance to perfection.

2. Kieron Powell:

The late entrant into the squad, Kieron Powell might get the nod straightaway. The flamboyant left-handed batsman had already acclimatised to the conditions by playing in Test format of the game.

It would be the perfect chance for the youngster to cement his place in the side and also to bolster his chances for the upcoming 2019 World Cup as well.

Shai Hope will play the major role for the Windies to boost their chances for the victory. The youngster has got a lot of talent under his kitty and also been the consistent player for the team of late.

Shimron Hetymer incredible talent to knock the boundaries more often than not will make him a player to watch out as well. All in all, he would take the field on Sunday with quite a heavy burden on his shoulders.

Another talented youngster, who might make the cut into the playing XI. He had a fantastic domestic tournament under his belt and also dealt Indian bowlers well in the recently-concluded Test series.

He got the knack of scoring runs at a thick rate and can certainly play the anchor role in the middle overs of the game. Much like Hetmyer, Sunil Ambris can also surprise the Indians with his quality strokeplay.

6. Rovman Powell:

The all-rounder is the sure shot player to be present in the playing XI. He got his touch in the recent series against Bangladesh, where he knocked a stunning 74 by coming down the order.

He also got the knack of picking the wickets by rolling his arms in the middle overs of the game. Besides his all-round capabilities, he is an exceptional fielder for the team as well.

7. Jason Holder:

The skipper of the team Jason Holder is the certain player to be in the playing XI. Though he suffered an injury, Jason made his comeback in style by scoring the crucial runs and picking a five-wicket haul.

He is the pillar of the side and his performance will surely make an impact on the game. Jason Holder is that sort of a player, who can hand the victory single-handedly for his side.

8. Ashley Nurse:

The off-spinner, who also can bat will find his place in the playing XI. He is a wicket-taker for the team and can restrict the batsmen in the middle overs of the game with his tight bowling.

Of late, Windies is using him at the death overs of the bowling as well. He acquired quite a success for the Windies with the ball and surely, a player that India needs to look after in their plannings.

The fast bowler hasn’t fared well enough in the longer version of the game. But, he might be preferred for the limited-overs series, as his recent record with the white ball has been exceptional.

In addition to his bowling, Keemo Paul can also wield his willow by batting down the order. It would be interesting to see how the youngster would utilise the chance.

The leg-spinner has always performed against India in the longer version of the game. The team management would hope the youngster to repeat the same in the limited-overs of the game as well.

The youngster has always been economical in his bowling approach and surely, a candidate that Jason Holder can rely his trust on. Bishoo also got the trick to get the turn even when the pitch isn’t favouring the spinners.

11. Kemar Roach:

The experienced campaigner in the side. The fast bowling all-rounder has been the consistent performer for the team in the recent past across the formats. It would have been a different story if he made his presence in Test format of the game as well.

However, it would be interesting to see how he approaches the game, especially, after making his way back to the turf from an injury.
