Windies have received yet another major blow before heading into the game against India in the limited overs format. The swashbuckling left-handed batsman Evin Lewis has withdrawn from the India tour citing personal reasons. The respective board confirmed the news on Wednesday (October 17th) by naming the replacements.

The visitors have already announced a depleted side without the likes of their major players. The players like Gayle, Russell, Sunil Narine are already out in the meantime and the exclusion of Evin Lewis will dent them further.

Alongside Kieron Powell, Obed McCoy will also join the ODI squad after being chosen as Alzarri Joseph’s replacement. The injured seamer will remain under observation until he returns to full fitness.

Obed McCoy surprised one and all with his impressive performance in the Carribean Premier League, which paves a way for him to represent Windies in the T20I circuit. However, the management is hopeful of him delivering in the 50-over format as well.
