India vs Windies 2018: 1st T20I - Rishabh Pant Looking Forward to the Series Opener

Updated - 04 Nov 2018, 12:38 PM

The young wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant, who made his ODI debut last month is now looking forward to the T20Is as India gears up for a three-match T20I series against India.

Meanwhile, in the absence of MS Dhoni, Pant is likely to be the first choice keeper. This will be a massive opportunity for the youngsters to make a mark and be in the good books of the selectors. However, Rishabh Pant, who had a terrific Test debut in England struggled to carry his form in the fifty overs format.

In the three ODIs, he played so far; the southpaw has managed to score only 41 runs with the highest score of 24. Subsequently, the management dropped him in favour of all-rounder Kedar Jadhav. However, Rishabh Pant remains an exciting commodity in this format given his aggressive batting style. He can smack the ball hard and has proved his ability in the Indian Premier League.

The cricketer from Delhi made his ODI debut last year against England and since then has featured in only four games. Although he hasn’t been impressive, his immense talent attracted the viewers. However, now, Pant has the perfect opportunity to cement his place against a weaker Windies bowling.

From ODI to T20… the journey continues in Kolkata! Looking forward to the first T20 match tomorrow,” the post read.

The first T20I between India and Windies is on November 4 (Sunday) at the Eden Gardens.
