ToggleTeam India will look to continue their dominant run in the second of the five-match ODI series against Windies at Visakhapatnam on October 24 (Wednesday).
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma scored individual hundreds as the hosts notched up an eight-wicket win. They will look to continue their dominant run when they take on Jason Holder & Co, who will have to sort issues of their bowling department.
India will also look to rectify the mistakes done by their bowlers, who leaked enough runs against a Windies side, who is going through a transition period. Kohli & Co have rested their first choice pacers and testing their bench strength ahead of the mega event next year in England.
However, they will look keep their winning combination intact for the second fixture and provide more opportunities to the youngsters of the side.
Here is the predicted XI of India in the second ODI against Windies at Visakhapatnam:
SHIKHAR DHAWAN
Shikhar Dhawan will look to get going after missing out in the first ODI against Windies. He has been in great form in the Asia Cup and will look to tune it ahead of India’s tour of Australia.
ROHIT SHARMA
Rohit Sharma has been a key component of this ODI set-up and he once again proved his worth in the last outing. He played a dashing knock of unbeaten 152 runs to see his team through. India will want him to continue in the rest of the series against Windies.
VIRAT KOHLI (C)
The India skipper returned to the ODI team with a bang as he made the tough chase look easy with his aggressive batting skills. Kohli brought his 36th ODI ton to set the tone for his side and will be keen to continue this momentum.
AMBATI RAYUDU
Ambati Rayudu has capitalised whatever little opportunities have come his way. Recently, Kohli admitted that Rayudu fits well in his World Cup plan which should do his confidence a world of good.
Rayudu showed form chipping in with an unbeaten 22 and will look to continue from there.
RISHABH PANT
Rishabh Pant made his ODI debut in the first game against Windies, however, didn’t get the opportunity to bat. Pant has impressed in the Test circuit and will look to carry his form in the 50-over format of the game.
MS DHONI (WK)
MS Dhoni’s performance with the bat will be under scanner after recent failures in the Asia Cup and tour of England. The former India skipper will be desperate to prove his batting credentials against a weak Windies attack.
RAVINDRA JADEJA
Ravindra Jadeja has impressed since his return to the ODI team last month in the Asia Cup. In the last game against Windies, Jadeja bagged two crucial wickets and will look to continue his good run with a World Cup spot in sight.
UMESH YADAV
Umesh Yadav will have to pick wickets with the new ball to give tough competition to premier ODI bowlers. Yadav has done well in the Tests and will look to continue on that form in the ODI formats.
MOHAMMED SHAMI
Mohammed Shami had an average return to the ODI side as he gave away 81 runs in his full quota. However, he picked wickets with the new ball which kept India in the hunt.
Shami will be keen to put some good performances in the coloured jersey to keep his World Cup hopes alive.
YUZVENDRA CHAHAL
Yuzvendra Chahal was the pick of the bowlers for India in the first ODI against Windies. He picked three wickets in the middle-order to keep things at check while Shimron Hetmyer took on the Indian bowlers.
Chahal will look to continue to weave his magic against a moderate batting order of the Caribbeans.
KHALEEL AHMED
It is a learning curve for the young Khaleel Ahmed, who made his debut for India during the Asia Cup last month. The tall left-arm pacer has impressed so far and will look to continue with his job in the next fixture.
