The second ODI between India and Windies ended in a thrilling tie. Batting first, India scored 321 for 6 in the allotted 50 overs. Skipper Virat Kohli starred with the bat once again, scoring 157 not out off just 129. He received good support from Ambati Rayudu who scored 73.

In reply, Windies were reeling at 78 for 3 at one stage. However, a 143-run stand between Shai Hope and Shimron Hetmyer revived the chase. Hetmyer departed after blasting 94 off just 64 but Hope remained till the end, scoring 123 to secure a deserved tie for his side.

With the game now done and dusted, here is a look at the statistical highlights:

1. Virat Kohli has scored 50-plus scores in all the five games he has played at Vizag. He is only the third player to score as many as five 50+ ODI scores at an Indian venue after Rahul Dravid in Nagpur (6 inns) and Sachin Tendulkar in Kolkata (12 inns).

2. Kohli scored his 37th ODI century. In doing so Kohli became the fastest to reach 10,000 runs. Kohli reached the milestone in his 205th innings, thus bettering Sachin Tendulkar who achieved the feat in his 259th innings.

3. Kohli  also became the fastest Indian to complete 4000 runs on home soil. Kohli surpassed Tendulkar as he reached the mark in his 78th innings at home, while Tendulkar had taken 92 innings to complete the milestone.

4. Kohli’s unbeaten 157 is the second highest individual score in a tied ODI game. The highest was 158 by Andrew Strauss in the 2011 World Cup match against India.

5. MS Dhoni now has been part of six tied ODI matches which are the joint-most by any player. Aamer Sohail, Inzamam-ul-Haq and Wasim Akram were also part of six Tied ODIs.

6.  This Tied game is the 10th in ODI cricket involving the Windies; the most by any team. Australia were part of nine Tied ODIs which India equalled with this match.

7. The visitors hit as many as 11 sixes in this game which are the second most by them in an ODI against India. They hit a total of 13 sixes in the 2011 ODI played in Chennai.

8. The 642 runs scored in this game are the 3rd most in a tied ODI game. The 2008 Napier ODI between New Zealand and England aggregated 680 runs while the India-England 2011 World Cup game recorded a total of 676 runs.
