The Windies were expected to give a stern competition in the shortest format of the game. However, it has been a similar story as India have dominated the proceedings in the first two T20Is. Thus, the hosts have taken an impregnable lead of 2-0 which gives them a chance to test their bench strength. They have rested Jasprit Bumrah, Umesh Yadav and Kuldeep Yadav for the final match. Therefore, they are all set to have new players in the last XI.
Meanwhile, the Windies will look to come back stronger. The tourists batting has let them down in this series and they would like to make a solid return. They haven’t been able to get their act together and would look for a compensation win to end their India tour.
On the other hand, Rohit Sharma was able to do Rohit Sharma’s things in the second T20I. Meanwhile, Shikhar Dhawan was also able to get 40 odd runs under his belt, however, they were not convincing as Dhawan took his own time. Hence, the southpaw opener will seek a good knock before jetting off to Australia.
Indian bowlers have been right on the money and they would aim to continue in a similar fashion. They have been able to hit the right areas and have not allowed the Windies batsmen to settle in.
India will look to get as many new faces in the playing XI as they can, after already bagging the series. Therefore, the likes of Shreyas Iyer, Washington Sundar, and Siddarth Kaul can get their chances in the final XI. These youngsters will aim to grab their chances with both hands as they would aim to press their case.
Khaleel Ahmed has been a big positive for the Indian team and the southpaw seamer will look to continue with his good show. Ahmed has been hitting the right length and he would aim to make the most of it.
