It wasn’t a grand tour for Windies to India. They got outsmarted in every format of the game, including, in their dominating T20I. They were clean-swept by Rohit Sharma-led side after India won the close encounter in Chennai. Meanwhile, the Windies skipper, Carlos Brathwaite wants to focus on the positives.

Despite the unfortunate result, the emergence of Shimron Hetmyer and Oshane Thomas could be the pleasing sight for the Windies camp. The duo displayed top-notch cricket to send the fear down Indian players’ spines.

0-3 looks embarrassing, but the fight we gave is nice – Carlos Brathwaite

The Windies skipper quoted he is embarrassed to see 0-3 on the cards but satisfied with the fight put in by the team. Further, he added the team resources have kept their hand forward and tried their heart out to push for a victory.

He wants the team to take the confidence forward and perform in their next tour. Carlos went on to add saying they will look to come out on top against Bangladesh team in the coming series.

Three-nought looks bad, and it looks embarrassing for me as captain as well, but the performances we gave, and the fight and the fact that we came together to use our resources to the best of our abilities was the hallmark for this short series for me,” Brathwaite said.

”We had back-to-back games, we didn’t start as well as we wanted, and by the time we got into the tour, we had lost the series. And we came back to do a better performance with bat and ball tonight. So if we can get this performance into Bangladesh’s first game of the series, then we can look to come out on top in that series,” he concluded.

However, it wasn’t a great tour apart from a couple of positives for the Windies. Hopefully, they will need to gell well ahead of the upcoming Bangladesh tour to get it right ahead of the 2019 World Cup.
