Former West Indies legend Brian Lara believes India don’t have any middle order woes. India’s top three batsmen, Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli have done the bulk of the scoring for the team. Meanwhile, Ambati Rayudu is coming up with a solution to India’s number four woes as he has delivered the goods.

Rayudu had scored two fifties in the Asia Cup. Subsequently, the right-hander was able to grab his chance with both hands in the ODIs against the Windies. The Hyderabad batsman scored one hundred and one fifty in the five-match series to put an end to the musical chair game of the number four slot.

Meanwhile, Kedar Jadhav has done a fine job with the ball. However, he hasn’t received many opportunities with the bat. Furthermore, MS Dhoni’s current form is a cause of concern for the Indian team.

Brian Lara said while talking to Cricket Next, “I don’t think India has middle order problems. India needs a solid bowler who can bat or solid batsman who can bowl. Krunal Pandya still has a long way to go”

Meanwhile, Brian Lara believes Shimron Hetmyer should play according to the match situation. Lara said Hetmyer looks to be in a rush. The former southpaw said Hetmyer can accelerate at a great pace. Hetmyer had a good second and third ODI. However, he hasn’t looked at the top of his game in the last few matches.

Furthermore, Lara went on to add it is surprising to see a player like Carlos Brathwaite not been a part of the Windies ODI squad. Brathwaite is Windies T20I skipper and had scalped two wickets in the first match.

On the other hand, India is slowly but surely finding its missing pieces for the 2019 World Cup.
