India won the two-match Test series convincingly against the Windies, and Umesh Yadav was declared as the Man of the Match who bowled his career-best bowling figures at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. Prithvi Shaw scored the highest runs for India, as he scored 70 runs and 33 runs in the first and second innings, respectively. Ajinkya Rahane and Rishabh Pant added valuable 152 runs to help the hosts past 300 on day three.

Indian batsmen along with the bowlers played some fantastic cricket.

However, Windies skipper, Jason Holder picked up three out of the six wickets. Holder bagged with five wickets, and he achieved it for the seventh time. Team India pacer, Umesh Yadav bagged six wickets in the first essay. He moreover, picked up another four wickets in the second one.

Moreover, Umesh Yadav thanked all his team members for the support. He was the lone pacer after his partner Shardul Thakur injured himself in the first innings. Thakur hurt himself after delivering only ten balls in the first innings.

Yadav was keen to take wickets at a regular interval, and he was dedicated to doing so. He moreover said it was healthy competition and he also enjoyed everyone’s company.

“First of all, I would like to thank my teammates for their support. I knew that I was the only fast bowler playing and felt that I had a good chance. I just kept going for wickets and kept trying my best. We are enjoying each other’s company; it is very healthy competition and keeps helping each other, playing for each other and for the team.”

India will start their ODI campaign against the Windies from October 21 (Sunday). Umesh Yadav was not found in the squad for the first and second ODI against the Windies.
